Nilüfer Yildirim moves within a suspended territory, where abstraction and figuration coexist without resolution. Her work captures the invisible tension of human connection, where colour becomes emotion and distance feels unexpectedly intimate.
Based between Istanbul and Milan, Yildirim studied graphic design and art history in Milan before spending several years living and working in New York.
Rooted in an abstract figurative language, her paintings explore the psychological architecture of relationships. Figures emerge and dissolve, never fully graspable, existing in a space that feels both close and unreachable. It is precisely within this ambiguity that her work finds its strength.

Intuitive.
Through a refined use of colour and composition, Yildirim constructs emotional landscapes rather than narratives. Her canvases become places where memory, intimacy, and distance intersect.
This in-between condition, neither fully abstract nor entirely representational, mirrors the instability of contemporary emotional life.
